Florida Atlantic University OwlThon 2017 | Event Production
The Supersede Group is proud to be a supreme sponsor of Florida Atlantic University’s OwlThon event, raising enormous amounts of money for a great cause. We’re proud to donate our equipment to charities we know benefit our community directly.
Dance Marathon began at Indiana University in 1991 and was the first event to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Following Indiana’s example, Bowling Green State University, the University of Iowa, the University of Florida, and Florida State University all began their own branch of the event, and the modern day Dance Marathon was born. Dance Marathons have become a tradition on campus and in communities, with each event being entirely student run, with 100% of proceeds going towards their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. To date, college Dance Marathons have raised over $62 Million to benefit Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
Today, Dance Marathon is a part of over 250 colleges and high schools around the country. At every campus, Dance Marathon grows each and every year. At Florida Atlantic University, OwlThon began in March of 2014. In its first year, OwlThon raised $6,00. Over $66,000 in its second year, and in our third and most recent OwlThon event, over $188,000 was raised for Children’s Miracle Network. This 3,000% increase in funds raised makes OwlThon the fastest growing CMN Hospitals Dance Marathon program, and we hope to continue this exponential growth in 2017.
